Porto Salvo, October 24th, 2017 – In this 2017 Web Summit edition, Cisco is reviewing great trends like Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT) and the Software as a Service (SaaS), besides showcasing, in first hand, the technologic innovation potentialities. The great news is the possibility of Web Summit participants to get to know the open source DevNet platform, where a community of programmers can find tools to create new technologies.

To discuss all these subjects and innovations, Cisco will bring to Portugal some of the top-notch specialists, such as Susie Wee, Cisco’s VP & CTO of DevNet Innovations, Kevin Bandy, Cisco’s Senior Vice President and Chief Digital Officer, and Jon Koplin, Cisco’s Business Development Director. All the information which companies and developers are looking for will be available at Cisco’s booth, located in Stand 875 at FIL.

DevNet and Innovation

Innovation is shaping the recent technologic transformations that industry, businesses and society are facing. For Cisco, the surrounding ecosystem is the key to success and, for this reason, DevNet is a promotor of the technologic development, by enabling the integration of new software, capable of driving the way how applications interact with infrastructures. This way, industry is closer to move forward towards digitization, without forgetting security.

From programmers’ perspective, this is the opportunity to contact with cutting edge technology which will allow them to work on their innovative ideas and promote the technologic development. The DevNet community is, after all, a platform where it is possible to learn, code, inspire, connect and test applications already developed, looking for mentorship and technical counselling.

Industry wise, DevNet works not only based on how applications can answer to infrastructures but also how they are available on a programmable infrastructure.

Artificial Intelligence and IoT in Stage

Reminding the role of innovation in technology’s future, Cisco brings to Lisbon specialists from DevNet, Artificial Intelligence and Business Development. With this participation, Cisco revises the power of innovation in network.

To show us what is still missing in the universe of SaaS business, Jon Koplin, Cisco’s Business Development Director, speaks at SaaS Monster stage, on the 7th of November at 11:35 a.m. Jon Koplin will share the investors’ perspective relatively to the business opportunity in the SaaS area.

Kevin Bandy, Cisco’s Senior Vice President and Chief Digital Officer, will be at Web Summit on the 8th of November, at SaaS Monster stage, around 10:45 a.m., where he will guide us through a reflection about the artificial intelligence power in the corporate world. For Kevin Bandy, digitization is in the headlines and it is the driver responsible for technologic companies’ restructuration, no matter the size. In this process, artificial intelligence has a key role in the inclusion of new competences in intuitive networks, which we cannot ignore.

On the 9th of November, Susie Wee, Cisco’s VP & CTO of DevNet Innovations, explores Cisco DevNet opportunities and its impact in digital transformation leadership. To Susie Wee, the industrial transformation has been driven by great developments in applications and infrastructures, which have resulted from the production of about 111 billion code lines, only in 2017. This is why Cisco’s DevNet platform is so relevant in the development of innovation. This presentation takes place at FullSTK stage, at 11:30 a.m.
